Drexel Athletics raised $473,000 to support Dragon student-athletes during Drexel Giving Day on April 2. Collectively, more than 1,800 unique donors made gifts to support varsity and club student-athletes, accounting for over 50 percent of the total donations made on the day.
"We are grateful for the support and engagement that was extended to Drexel Athletics on our Day of Giving," said Vice President and Director of Athletics, Maisha Kelly. "Our student-athletes and programs benefit directly from the generosity of our many alumni, families, and friends of the University. The hard work of our development staff and coaches allows us to tell our story and encourage constituents to invest in Drexel Athletics. Thank you to our community."
Varsity athletics and club programs accounted for 16 of the top 25 campus groups in unique donors during the day. Men's Swimming and Diving took home top honors, amassing over 300 unique donors. Among individual programs, Women's Lacrosse led the way raising $42,035, while Wrestling ($36,255), Men's Soccer ($33,637) and Men's Lacrosse ($32,129) rounded out the top four.
"The Dragon community really showed up and answered the challenge on Drexel Giving Day," said Bryan Davis, Assistant Vice President, Development. "We thank all those who participated as your support directly impacts each one of our programs."
