Women’s Varsity 8+ Named CAA Boat of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - The Drexel women's varsity 8+ has been named CAA Boat of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
The V8+ team of Lauren Shaw (Coxswain), Emily Ellis (Stroke), Ellen McCallin, Margaret Dobrenko, Hannah Walseth, Taylor Powell, Colette Zidek, Baylor Henry, and Sabrina Batdorf (Bow) took gold at the 86th Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday, helping the Dragons to capture the overall championships. This was the Dragons second consecutive win in the varsity 8+ event.
Drexel held on to the lead the entire way, fighting off the teams from Georgetown and St. Joseph's at the finish line. DU came home with a time of 6:38.387, 6/10 of a second ahead of the Hoyas.
