Amari Williams Signs Two-Way Contract with Boston Celtics

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel alumnus Amari Williams has signed a two-way contract with the Boston Celtics on Friday. Williams was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 46th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
A two-way contract will allow Williams to play up to 50 regular season NBA games this season. Williams will also play for Boston's G League team, the Maine Celtics.
In the NBA Summer League, the former Dragon played in four of the five total games and finished with 6.3 points per game, five boards per game and 1.8 assists per game.
Williams became the eighth Drexel basketball player to be selected in the NBA Draft and the first since Malik Rose in 1996. The others are Michael Anderson (1988), Richard Congo (1984), Michael Mitchell (1984), Randy Burkert (1982), Len Hatzenbeller (1981) and Greg Newman (1974).
The native of Nottingham, England is trying to be the fourth Drexel player to play in the NBA. Anderson, Rose and Damion Lee are the other three. Lee played last season with Phoenix.
