Drexel Powers Past Franklin & Marshall, 30-11

PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel wrestling team picked up its third victory in conference Saturday night, defeating Franklin & Marshall, 30–11, in Philadelphia. The win marked the Dragons' 11th of the season, with eight Drexel wrestlers earning victories in the dual.
Desmond Pleasant started the dual at 125 pounds, earning a hard fought 7-1 decision victory. Pleasant collected takedowns in the first and third periods for his 17th win of the season.
At 133 pounds, Kyle Waterman cruised to a dominant 20–3 technical fall. The redshirt senior notched five takedowns and capped the bout with four back points.
Deon Pleasant secured his first win of the season in the DAC in dramatic, come-from-behind fashion against Pat Phillips. Phillips jumped out to an early lead with a late takedown in the first period. Pleasant answered with a takedown in the final 10 seconds of the second, but Phillips regained control early in the third to take a 7-3 advantage. Deon battled back to cut the deficit before scoring the decisive takedown in the closing seconds to seal an 8–7 victory.
Luke Nichter and Dom Findora followed with back-to-back decision wins at 157 and 165 pounds, respectively. Cody Walsh made his season debut at 174 pounds and delivered a 10-2 major decision. Walsh now leads the Dragons with 20 wins on the year.
Ibrahim Ameer and No. 24 Nate Schon closed things out for Drexel, recording consecutive technical falls to secure the 30-11 team victory.
