PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel wrestling team erased a 13-8 deficit to defeat Hofstra, 26-13, Sunday night at the DAC. The Dragons closed the dual by winning the final four bouts to secure their 12th victory of the season. DU improves to 12-3 overall, sitting one win shy of the most victories under Mert '67 and Joanne '69 Hill Head Coach of Wrestling Matt Azevedo.
Desmond Pleasant got the Dragons started at 125 pounds, cruising to a 19-4 technical fall with six takedowns in the bout. Jordan Soriano followed with a bounce-back 8-1 decision victory at 141 pounds.
After DU took a 8-4 lead, The Pride put together three straight victories, all by decision, to take a 13-8 advantage. The Dragons followed with four straight victories of their own, including three with bonus points.
Jasiah Queen opened the scoring with his fifth major decision win of the season. Ethan Wilson followed with a technical fall at 197 pounds, scoring 27 points, the most by any Dragon in a dual this season. The Washington Township, N.J. native kept the pressure on from there, securing the tech fall in the third period.
