Four Dragons Named to CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team

GREENWOOD, Ind — Desmond Pleasant, Nate Schon, Kyle Waterman and Ethan Wilson of the Drexel wrestling team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's At-Large Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be of a sophomore academic standing or higher with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key reserve for their team.
Pleasant, a Sports Business major, qualified for his first NCAA Championships this season. The Piscataway, N.J., native compiled a 24-10 record at 125 pounds, including a 13-5 mark in dual matches. The redshirt senior earned a career-best third-place finish at the EIWA Championships, securing a pair of late round victories. He was also recognized as an NWCA Scholar All-American.
In his first season with the Dragons, Schon automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships, punching his ticket with a second place finish at the EIWA Championships. The heavyweight pinned Navy's No. 1 seed to punch his ticket to nationals. The Interdisciplinary Professional Studies major finished with a 18-7 record and was a NWCA Scholar All-American honoree.
Waterman was also named an NWCA Scholar All-American while earning his degree in Accounting. The Holland, Pa., native placed third at the EIWA Championships, clinching third place with a sudden victory. He finished the season with a 13-11 overall record and was named EIWA Wrestler of the Week after defeating No. 13-ranked Dylan Shawver of Rutgers.
Wilson, a Finance major, completed his first full season as the starter at 184 pounds, compiling a 17-12 record. The redshirt junior cracked the national rankings for the first time in his career and placed seventh at the EIWA Championships, finishing with a 3-2 mark at the tournament. Wilson also received NWCA Scholar All-American status.
