RICHMOND, Va. – Drexel's Valentine Van Hellemont was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Dragons to a 2-0 record and clinching a CAA postseason spot.
Van Hellemont began the weekend scoring the game-winning goal against conference foe Northeastern. The Belgium native inserted a penalty corner with six seconds remaining in the game. After a deflected shot, the ball ricocheted in front of the cage before Van Hellemont fired it in as time expired, giving the Dragons a walk-off win. The senior would continue her dominance on Sunday, recording four assists for La Salle. This ties a program record and is the most assists in a game since 2013. Van Hellemont now leads the CAA in assists and is fourth in the nation in points per game.
The Dragons look to finish off CAA play against William & Mary on Friday, October 30th. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
