PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's basketball team fell to the Monmouth Hawks, 93-73, on Thursday at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Dillon Tingler led the team with a career-high 19 points. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker's Local 98 is once again the presenting sponsor of Drexel Men's Basketball. This game was also sponsored by Pepsi.

BY THE NUMBERS
Tingler was a perfect 7/7 from the foul line and shot 5/9 on the night with 16 of his points coming in the second half.

Shane Blakeney finished with 17 points, four assists, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal.

Victor Panov had 14 points, three assists and a block.

The Dragons blocked five shots and outscored the Hawks in the paint, 40-30.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A Blakeney three and a layup from Kevon Vanderhorst gave Drexel a 5-0 lead early. Monmouth responded with a 10-0 run that was broken up by a Panov layup with 15:31 to go. The Hawks connected on back-to-back baskets before an Eli Beard three made it a five-point game with just over 14 minutes to play. The teams traded baskets and then Monmouth went on a 13-0 run, extending their lead to 20 with 5:50 to play in the first. A layup from Panov broke up the scoring before the Hawks went on a 9-3 run. The half ended on three made free throws from Tingler with Monmouth leading 45-22.

The second half started with baskets from Martin de Laporterie and Blakeney before a 9-2 Monmouth run made it 54-28 with 16:19 left. The Dragons fought back with a 6-1 run. The Hawks extended their lead with a 5-0 run but Drexel responded with a 9-2 run capped off by a Josh Reed dunk with 11:09 to play. Monmouth continued to extend its lead, increasing it to 22. Drexel responded with a 13-6 run once again capped off by a dunk from Reed with six minutes to play. A 9-2 run from the Hawks ultimately put the game out of reach.

In the second half, Drexel outscored Monmouth 51-48. The Dragon's bench outscored the Hawks 24-12.
