Six Dragons Advance to Finals at Day One of the National Invitational Championships

OCALA, Fl. – Six members of the Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving teams advanced to the finals in day one of the CSCAA National Invitational Championship on Thursday, at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training Facility. Brittany Corbett, Roko Krina, Matas Cinga, Megan Ehrnfeldt, Mark Eszes and Dimi Gkelis all qualified for the finals. The men's team finished day one with 72 points and the women's with 57.
In the men's 200-yard freestyle relay, Eszes, Cinga, Petar Pavalic and Declan Egger finished fifth with a time of 1:19.78. In the 50-yard backstroke, Gkelis finished sixth with a time of 22.15. Competing in the 500 men's freestyle, Cinga and Krina finished at 14th (4:29.62) and 17th (4:31.81), respectively. The women's 200 freestyle relay saw the team of Megan Ehrnfeldt, Mari Alencar, Emma Pillich, and Clare Schwartz finish 18th in 1:31.15. Corbett hit the wall at 4:35.46 in the 500 women's freestyle relay, finishing 16th. In the women's 50-yard butterfly, Megan Ehrnfeldt placed eighth with a time of 24.23.
