Krpina Sets School Record for 1650 as Swimming and Diving Wrap Up National Invitational Championships

OCALA, Fl. – Roko Krpina set a new school record for the men's 1650 while six members of the Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving teams advanced to the finals in the final day of the CSCAA National Invitational Championship on Saturday, at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training Facility. Mari Alencar, Brittany Corbett, Matas Cinga, Megan Ehrnfeldt, Mark Eszes and Petar Pavalic all advanced to the finals.
Krpina's 15:31.18 in the 1650 breaks Patrick Cobb's 15:32.78 record from the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association Championships. In the 200 Backstroke, Pavalic finished fourth, hitting the wall at 1:43.31. Matas Cingas's 43.71 finish placed him fifth in the 100 Freestyle. Mark Eszes came in 16th for the 200 Breaststroke, with a time of 1:59.61.
In the 100 Freestyle, Megan Ehrnfeldt and Mari Alencar placed 10th and 16th, respectively, hitting the wall at 50.69 and 50.74. In the 400 Freestyle Relay, the team composed of Alencar, Clare Schwartz, Corbett and Ehrnfeldt finished 16th with a time of 3:23.64.
