Women’s Rowing Takes Home a Pair of Victories at Kerr Cup

PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel women's rowing team collected a pair of victories at the Kerr Cup Saturday morning on the Schuylkill River. The 2nd Varsity and 3rd Varsity 8+ teams both took home gold. The Varsity 8+ crew crossed the line in third place.
The 2V8+ team of Lauren Shaw (Coxswain), Michaela Werber (Stroke), Kieran Harrington, Jaelyn Walsh, Imogen O'Rourke Blackburn, Valeria Sanango, Ria Jones, Alyssa Bucci and Heather Humes (Bow) captured gold in Alleva XVII with a time of 7:35.2. Drexel finished nearly nine seconds ahead of second-place Fordham.
The 3V8+ lineup of Katie O'Donnell (Coxswain), Marley Kronemeyer (Stroke), Chloe Zaragoza, Maddie Kristel, Paige McFadden, Chloe Lazzerini Denchi, Sammy Madarang, Charlotte Bentrim and Emerson Donahue (Bow), rowing in Cara Fry, posted a finish of 7:46.9 to best Philadelphia rival La Salle by almost 12 seconds.
The Varsity 4+ and 2nd VArsity 4+ races were canceled due to high winds.
