Fiedler Seals the Win as Drexel Defeats Towson 5-2

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team defeated the Towson Tigers, 5-2, on Friday at home.

In doubles play, Bia Ibrahim and Olivia Chowgule lost the third doubles court first 1-6, but the Dragons were able to bounce back, with Lorie Lemongo and Adva Dabah claiming the wins on doubles 1 by a score of 6-1 before Anastasia Kavounov and Rebecca Fiedler won doubles 2 with a score of 6-2.
The women carried that momentum in singles by claiming the next 2 points by winning on courts 1 and 3. Lemongo won by a score of 7-5, 6-0 and Dabah by a score of 6-4, 6-3. Towson showed some fight by claiming a point on singles 2. Kavounov lost a tight two-set match 4-6, 6-7(4). The Dragons took the next 2 points through wins on singles 4 and 5. Fiedler clinched the win at 4 singles by winning 6-4, 6-2. Sofiya Snitko carried the momentum by winning 6-0, 6-2. Ibrahim lost the final point in a grueling 2-hour match, 6-7(13), 3-6.
