Men’s Rowing Collects Three Wins at Bergen Cup

PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel men's rowing team collected a trio of wins at the Bergen Cup Saturday on the Schuylkill River. The 2nd Varsity 8+, 3rd Varsity 8+ and 4th Varsity 8+ all took home victories as the Varsity 8+ finished just short of gold in second place.
Prior to Saturday's event, Drexel honored the following seven seniors for their contributions to the program: Jono Andersson, Kyle Brown, Quinn Cooney, Sam Duncan, Aidan Ionescu, Logan Lyle and Andrei Malis.
The 2V8+ team opened with the first win of the day. Derek Kaiser (Coxswain), Oscar Lourie (Stroke), Ollie Quinn, Quinn Cooney, Aidan Ionescu, Noah Beaton, Ryan Miller, Charlie Fortner and Maxwell Burget (Bow), rowing in Krall III, crossed the line with a time of 5:48.1, 5.7 seconds ahead of La Salle.
The 3V8+ finished the course with a time of 5:53.6, followed by the 4V8+ at 6:08.00.
