Three Dragons Earn Big 5 Honors

PHILADELPHIA – Grace O'Neill, Amaris Baker and Laine McGurk were honored by the Big 5 on Tuesday morning. O'Neill was named Scholar-Athlete, Baker was named to the first team and McGurk was selected to the second team.
O'Neill capped off her Drexel career by averaging four points, four rebounds and four assists per game. The senior also started in all 32 games for Drexel and averaged the second—highest minutes per game on the team. O'Neill was also named the CAA's Dean Ehlers award recipient, making her the eighth Dragon to win the award in program history.
Baker finished the regular season campaign scoring 18.8 points per game, which ranked second in the conference and 36th in the country. The graduate student led the Dragons with field goals this season with 223, which is a career high. It is the second time that the graduate student was named to a Big 5 team in her career.
McGurk played in and started in all 32 of Drexel's games this season. The junior averaged 12.8 points per game and doubled her career-high point production of 185 points, scored her freshman year. This season, McGurk scored 411 points. This is the first time in her career that she is receiving Big 5 honors.
