Varsity 4+ Finish Second in Fifth Final

GOLD RIVER, Calif. — Two Drexel boats advanced to the Third Final at the IRA National Championships on Saturday morning. The 2nd Varsity 8+ and 3rd Varsity 8+ each qualified for Sunday's Third Final and will race for 13th place nationally.

The Varsity 8+ will compete in the Fourth Final on Sunday, while the Varsity 4+ wrapped up its championship campaign with a second-place finish in the Final 5.

The 2V8+ finished second in their Semifinal race, posting a time of 5:58.72. Rowing is Lois Krall III, Derek Kaiser (Coxswain), Danilo Djokic (Stroke), Ollie Quinn, Oscar Lourie, Ryan Miller, Noah Beaton, Aidan Ionescu, Charlie Fortner and Maxwell Burget (Bow) crossed the line with the 13th quickest time in the semifinal, finishing ahead of Philadelphia rivals Temple and La Salle in their respective race. Boston had the best time of 5:56.71.

The 3rd Varsity 8+ placed third in its semifinal, crossing the line in 6:11.21 behind Wisconsin and Holy Cross to secure a spot in Sunday's Third Final.

Action from Lake Natoma continues Sunday, with Drexel returning to the water beginning at 9:06 a.m. PT.
