Men’s Rowing Qualifies Seven Boats for Dad Vail Grand Finals

CHERRY HILL, N.J. — The Drexel men's rowing team qualified seven boats to the Grand Finals of the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta Friday on the Cooper River. The Dragons totaled five wins in semi-final competition as Drexel eyes their fifth straight points title. The Varsity 8+, 2nd Varsity 8+, 3rd Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+, 2nd Varsity 4+, Frosh/Novice 4+ and Varsity Single will all race for gold on Saturday.
Rowing in Krall IV, The V8+ crew of Luke Joseph (coxswain), Ben Werber (stroke), Kyle Brown, Matthew Kennedy, Jono Andersson, Justus Bormann, Milo Epstein, Jakob Mauntel and Andrei Malis (bow) clocked in at a time of 5:39.100. The Dragons finished 1.250 seconds ahead of La Salle and recorded the second-fastest time overall.
The 2V8+ team cruised to victory with a time of 5:45.410, finishing more than 11 seconds ahead of Santa Clara. The 3V8+ crew also delivered a strong performance, posting a 5:58.010 and coming in nearly five seconds ahead of La Salle. The Varsity 4+ and 2nd Varsity 4+ also took home victories in their respective races.
Due to weather, tomorrow's races have been inverted to the morning, with action now slated to begin at 7:20 a.m.
