Drue Nicholas Qualifies for 126th U.S. Amateur Championship

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel alumnus, Drue Nicholas '25, has qualified for the 126th U.S. Amateur, scheduled for August 10-16 at Merion Golf Club and Philadelphia Country Club.
On July 14, Nicholas won his second straight Open Championship at Lancaster Country Club, a par 70, 6,803 yard course. Nicholas defeated Josh Ryan in a four-hole aggregate playoff to become just the fourth amateur to win the championship back-to-back. In the two-round event, Nicholas fired a 3-under par 137.
On Monday, July 20, Nicholas tied for sixth in the 126th U.S. Amateur Qualifying event at Llanerch Country Club, clinching his spot in the upcoming USGA sponsored event. Nicholas finished 2-under par 69, trailing the leader by three strokes.
Information about the U.S. Amateur, including information on purchasing tickets, can be found here. Nicholas will tee off from Merion Golf Club on Monday, August 10 at 7 a.m. He is a part of the first groups of the event.
