PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel women's soccer team battled La Salle to a 1-1 draw on Friday afternoon. The match was originally scheduled for Thursday but was postponed due to weather. The Dragons move to 1-2-1 on the year.
Gracie Sullivan made a career-high 10 saves in the road contest, marking the most by an individual Dragons goalkeeper in a single match since 2017 and the most combined by the team since 2019. The sophomore has 22 saves in the campaign in just her fourth career appearance.
The Dragons got on the board first in the 9th minute. Jess Castorina fired from just inside the box and through the top-left corner for her first goal of the season.
The Explorers responded in the 21st minute to even the score at 1-1. Siena Mount played the ball into the box to Justyce Hollenbach, who found Kayden Williams in front of the net for the equalizer.
Drexel caps off the three-game road trip as they travel to Newark, N.J., to face NJIT on Sunday, August 30 at 1 p.m.
