Drexel Shoots One-Over-Par in First Round of J.T. Poston Invitational

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – Three Dragons shot an even-par 71 in the opening round of the three-round J.T. Poston Invitational on Sunday. The Dragons finished the day in 11^th place, shooting 1-over-par. Virginia Tech shot 12-under-par to lead the 17-team field.

Drexel's lineup featured three Dragons who played their first round for the Blue & Gold. Nathan Crawford shot a 1-under-par 34 on the front nine, however back-to-back bogey's on 15 and 16 put him over par before he carded a birdie on the par 5 565-yard hole 18. John Keba, one of two Drexel returners finished the front nine with two birdies and a bogey and then shot 1-over-par 37 to also finish even par.

Sophomore transfer, Harry Cohen also posted a 34 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine to shoot even par in his first round as a Dragon. Despite shooting a 34 on the front nine of his round, a double bogey on the 335-yard par 4 hole 13 led John Stevenson to a 1-over-par round.

Luca Kleinschmidt finished with a 4-over-par 75 in his first round of collegiate golf.

The Dragons return to the 6,735-yard Waynesville Inn and Golf Course on Monday to play in the second round of the J.T. Poston Invitational.
