Drexel Finishes Day Two of J.T. Poston Invitational Two-Under-Par

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – Drexel men's golf shot a 281 in the second round of the J.T. Poston Invitational to improve the team to 2-under-par. Despite shooting under par, Drexel fell two spots in the standings, tied for 13th overall through 36 holes at Waynesville Inn & Golf Club.
Leading the way was John Stevenson, who carded a 2-under-par 69. Stevenson recorded three birdies on the front nine, including back-to-back birdies at No. 2 and No. 5, before making the turn at 2-under 33. He added birdies on holes 11 and 14 and finished the day tied for 46th at 1-under-par overall.
John Keba and Harry Cohen each posted rounds of 1-under-par 70. Keba made four birdies, highlighted by a stretch of three birdies over a five-hole span on the back nine, and moved to 1-under for the tournament. Cohen also finished at 1-under overall after recording birdies on holes 5, 7 and 8, finishing with a 33 on the front nine.
After shooting even par in the opening round, Nathan Crawford added a 1-over-par 72 on Monday. Crawford birdied the first and 17th holes and enters the final round tied for 60th at 1-over par. Freshman Luca Kleinschmidt carded a 2-over-par 73 and sits tied for 88th heading into Tuesday's final round.
NC State leads the 17-team field at 26-under-par through two rounds, Lipscomb and Virginia Tech trail, tied for second.
The Dragons will close out play at the J.T. Poston Invitational on Tuesday with the tournament's final 18 holes.
