Cohen Claims Individual Title After Three-Way Playoff at John MacDonald Temple Invitational

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – Harry Cohen captured the individual title after winning a three-player playoff on Tuesday, leading the Drexel men's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the John MacDonald Temple Invitational at The 1912 Club.
Cohen entered the final round tied for the tournament lead after a second-round 66 on Monday and followed with a 1-over-par 71 on Tuesday. His 54-hole total of 1-under-par 211 tied him atop the leaderboard before he emerged victorious in a three-way playoff to earn his first collegiate tournament title as a Drexel Dragon.

"I was really proud of how the team responded today," head coach Scott Yurgalevicz said. "We were still without John Stevenson, so every score counted, and the guys battled their way up the leaderboard. John Keba gave us a great round in difficult conditions, and Harry was outstanding all tournament."
The sophomore transfer recorded birdies on holes 6, 13 and 15 during the final round and became the first Dragon to claim individual medalist honors this season.
"What impressed me most about Harry was how consistent he stayed," Yurgalevicz said. "He trusted his process from the first tee shot to the playoff, and that composure showed when he rolled in the winning birdie putt. For him to come through in that moment and earn his first collegiate title is really special, and it's something the entire program is proud of."
As a team, Drexel finished sixth in the 12-team field at 39-over-par. Despite playing without veteran John Stevenson for the final two rounds due to illness, the Dragons improved one spot in the standings on the tournament's final day.
John Keba also posted a strong tournament for the Dragons, carding a final-round 1-under-par 69. Keba made the turn in 1-under 34 after birdies on holes 2 and 11 and added another birdie on the 15th hole. He finished tied for fifth overall at 3-over par.
Nathan Crawford shot a 3-over-par 73 in the final round to finish tied for 34th at 15-over par. Crawford recorded birdies on holes 3 and 16 during Tuesday's round.
Matthew Normand rounded out Drexel's lineup with a final-round 75 and finished tied for 45th overall at 20-over par. Normand carded birdies on holes 11 and 16.
Host Temple claimed the team championship at 22-over par, finishing one stroke ahead of Delaware.
The Dragons return to action at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, hosted by West Virginia at Mystic Rock Golf Course at Nemacolin in Farmington, Pa. Action from the 7,526-yard par 72 is set for October 4.
