Bio
One of Drexel’s two captains and is a member of the Republic of Ireland’s National Team.
2014: Sat out the year after being sidelined by injury before the season began… a 2014 Commissioner’s Academic Award winner.
2013: Named to Second Team All-CAA after starting all 18 games of the season...tallied 75 saves, which was third in conference…also finished fifth in the CAA for goals against average (1.35), save percentage (.750), and shutouts (four)…made a season-best nine saves against La Salle...a 2013 CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award winner.
2012: Capped an outstanding season by being named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, the first Dragon ever to win the award…also selected First Team All-CAA, the first Drexel goalkeeper to be awarded a First Team selection...led the CAA in goals against average at 0.68…set a school record with 10 shutouts, which also led the CAA…recorded six shutouts in league play…had a save percentage of .835…made a season-best nine saves in the win against James Madison that clinched the Dragons first CAA tournament appearance…named CAA Co-Player of the Week after posting a pair of shutouts vs. Northeastern and Hofstra…named to CAA All-Tournament Team...a 2012 CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award winner.
2011: Had an impressive first season in University City…became the first Drexel goalkeeper to be named Second Team All-CAA…was also a member of the CAA’s All-Rookie Team…started the team’s final 10 matches and complied a 0.82 goals against average, ranking her third in the CAA …allowed just 12 goals in 17 games…had three shutouts, including back-to-back shutouts against James Madison and VCU which earned her CAA Rookie of the Week…made a career-high 11 saves in the scoreless tie against VCU…a 2011 CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award winner.
Background: Attended Saint Brother Andre High School in Markham, Ontario… earned her first cap as a member of Ireland’s National Team against Hungary in the Algarve Cup held in Portugal…played in the World University Games this past summer…previously played for the Under 17 Canadian Women’s National team and participated in the 2010 FIFA U17 World Cup…was a member of the Toronto Lady Lynx Junior team which qualified for the North American Finals…a member of the High Honor Roll all four years….earned letters in soccer, cross country, track and field and badminton.
Personal: Daughter of Catherine and Antonio Badana…one of three children…majoring in political science.
