Christopher Crawford
- Title:
- Undergraduate Assistant Coach
Christopher Crawford joined the Drexel Golf coaching staff as an undergraduate assistant in the summer of 2016. Crawford will be involved in player development and will also assist in recruiting.
As a player, Crawford capped off his brilliant collegiate career by qualifying for the U.S. Open in dramatic fashion. After earning medalist honors in the initial qualifier at Moselem Springs, Crawford, needing a birdie on the final hole at the sectional qualifier at Canoe Brook Country Club, rolled in a 40-footer to qualify. He would also later qualify to play in the prestigious U.S. Amateur.
The Bensalem, Pa. native's senior season included eight top-ten finishes and two individual wins. The three-time All-CAA First Team selection led the Dragons once again in 2015-16 with a stroke average of 71.8. The eight-time medalist and 11-time CAA Golfer of the Week made his final appearance for Drexel at the CAA Championships in Southport, N.C. in late April, where he carded a three-round total of 214 at Saint James Plantation to place third individually and be named to the All-Tournament Team. In 2014 as a junior, Crawford became Drexel's first-ever CAA Golfer of the Year. In addition, he was also named the Rookie of the Year and garnered All-CAA Second Team honors as a freshman in 2012.
