Bryan Green joined the Drexel men’s soccer coaching staff in 2010 as Head Coach Doug Hess’ top confidant. Green, a 1997 Elizabethtown College graduate, joined the Dragons after serving as an assistant coach at West Virginia for seven years.
Along with Hess and the rest of the coaching staff, Green helped Drexel win the outright Colonial Athletic Association regular season championship and earn a top-25 ranking and an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament in 2012. The Dragons followed that up with their first-ever CAA Tournament title in 2013, making a second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Green is a proven winner who has brought this attitude to each program that he has been a part of. Prior to his time at West Virginia, Green spent three seasons as the head coach at Keystone College from 2000-2002. He led the Giants to a 14-3-1 record and a No. 3 ranking in the NJCAA Division III.
Green was an All-American during his playing days at Elizabethtown, where he shared the pitch with Hess from 1993-95, and helped lead the Blue Jays to a 76-13-4 record and three Middle Atlantic Conference championship and four trips to the NCAA Tournament.
During his tenure in Morgantown, W.Va. Green assisted with all facets of the Mountaineers’ soccer program and helped to develop and coach six players who went on to careers in Major League Soccer. Under Green’s tutelage seven West Virginia players earned All-Big East honors, three earned All-Region honors and one was named ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America. He also coached three All-Americans. With Green on the sidelines, the Mountaineers earned three NCAA Tournament bids, advanced to the “Sweet 16” once, won the Big East regular season championship in 2006 and were ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation.
Green holds a master’s degree in sport management from East Stroudsburg University, where he served as an assistant coach from 1999-2000. He is also a USSF “B” Licensed coach and a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of American, holding national and advanced national diplomas.
In addition to conducting practices and maintaining day-to-day operations of the soccer office, Green is also charged with coordinating Drexel’s recruiting efforts and helping with scheduling, game-planning and scouting.
