2016-17: Junior campaign…Notched season bests of 51.24 in the 100 free at the Philly relays, 51.72 in the 100 back prelims at the CAA Championships, 1:51.99 in the 200 back prelims at the CAA Championships, 1:06.54 in the 100 breast against NJIT/Howard, 57.31 in the 100 IM against NJIT/Howard and 1:56.24 in the 200 IM prelims at the CAA Championships.…Drexel men finished 2nd of 5 at the 2017 CAA Championships with a score of 752.
2015-16: Swam in six different individual events for Drexel in his sophomore campaign…Three of his best individuals times on the year came in the CAA Championship prelims where he clocked times of 51.87 in the 100 back, 1:51.53 in the 200 back and 1:56.21 in the 200 IM…Also posted top times of 23.65 in the 50 free at Binghamton, 51.83 in the 100 free against La Salle and 25.53 in the 50 back against La Salle…A CAA Commissioner’s Award winner.
2014-15: Primarily swam in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke; occasionally the 200 IM…had 11 top-five finishes including one victory, six second-place finishes and two third-place marks…his top times in the 100 backstroke (52.36) and the 200 backstroke (1:51.18) both came at NYU.
Background: Letter all four years for Bishop Feehan ... Helped lead the Shamrocks to two team conference titles ... Placed first in the 100m backstroke and second in the 200 IM at the 2014 Conference Championships ... Member of two school-record setting relay teams in the 200 IM and the 4x100m freestyle ... Was an All-Conference All Star for 3 years, as well as a Boston Globe All-Star as a junior and senior ... Swam for the Bluefish swim for the past four years ... Member of the Science Honor Society, Math Honor Society, History Honor Society, Art Honor Society, and National Honor Society.
Personal: Son of Bill and Kimberly McLaughlin...has two siblings, Madison, 16, and Erin, 14 ...father, Bill, was a member of the University of Rhode Island cross country and track and field teams...majoring in biomedical engineering.
