In just one season with the Drexel staff, Kurz's winning mentality pushed the Dragons to new heights. Kurz helped lead the Dragons to a CAA Championship title for the first time since the 2009 season and only their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Dragons were the No. 4 seed heading into the CAA Tournament and produced big upsets against JMU and Delaware to secure their fate as CAA Champions and punch their ticket to San Antonio. The Dragons finished the year with a 14-9 overall record.
Kurz made her way to Drexel after spending five years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Villanova University from 2015-20. In her role at Villanova, Kurz assisted with on-court duties, scouting opponents, inputting game strategy, player development and film analysis while serving as the program’s recruiting coordinator.
She began her coaching career as an assistant at Lehigh University from 2012-2014. Following her two-year stint at Lehigh, Kurz worked one year as a Development Associate at Penn Charter High School in Philadelphia.
In her playing days, Kurz transferred to Villanova from Duke University and was a member of the Wildcat program from 2006-09. During her two seasons on the Main Line, she scored 1,064 points in 66 career games for an average of 16.1 points per contest and shot .471 from the field (403-of-855) and .357 from three-point range (100-of-280). She became just the second player in program history to score 1,000 points in two seasons. She also tallied 449 rebounds, 84 assists and 73 blocks. Kurz led the Wildcats to the 2009 NCAA Tournament by averaging a team-best 17.4 points per game and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per contest. For her efforts in 2008-09, she was an Honorable Mention All-American, Naismith Player of the Year nominee, All-Big East First Team member and Big 5 Player of the Year.
After graduating from Villanova, Kurz played one season of professional basketball for the Das Ano Liosia Basketball Clun in Ano Liosia, Greece.
Kurz is a 2009 graduate of Villanova where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communications. She also has a Master of Science degree in Sports Business from New York University.
