Ryan Kafer

Ryan Kafer joined the Drexel swimming and diving coaching staff during the fall of 2018 as a volunteer assistant coach.
Kafer comes to Drexel University from Lower Moreland swimming and diving, where he was head coach for four years. Prior to that, he coached for four years as the head senior coach at Penn Charter Aquatic Club. Concurrently, he helped coach the Penn Charter Boys Varsity swim team to their first Inter-Academic League title and served as the head coach during his final year. He has coached USA Swimming National qualifiers, NCSA Junior National qualifiers, Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving champions, PIAA State qualifiers and Middle Atlantic Junior Olympic champions.
Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Kafer swam two seasons for the University of Pennsylvania men’s swimming and diving team before putting his degree on hold. He later qualified for the 2002 US Olympic Trials.
Now with three children, Kafer is completing his Bachelor of Sciences degree with a minor in sport coaching leadership at the Goodwin College of Professional Studies at Drexel.
