Harry Zander joins Coach Childs' staff for a third season after coming to Drexel following the completion of a stand-out career at George Mason. Zander will specialize his coaching to focus on Drexel’s 184-, 197- and 285-pounders at Drexel.
With coaching from Zander, Drexel’s Kyle Frey won 29 matches last season and advanced to the finals of the CAA Tournament at heavyweight. One of his top charges this season is Preseason All-Rookie selection Jamie Callendar, a talented 184-pounder from Council Rock North High School.
Zander, a four-year starter at George Mason, served as team captain his senior season. He took fourth at the prestigious Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas and was the Virginia Intercollegiate Heavyweight Champion. He has worked George Mason wrestling camps as well as in the Gator Youth Wrestling Program in Woodbury Heights, N.J. where he attended high school.
Zander graduated George Mason with a degree in exercise science. He resides in National Park, N.J. While on the Drexel Wrestling staff, he will work toward his master's degree in business administration from Drexel.
