Boston, Mass. – Liza Rebello of Northeastern (9-5-3, 5-3-2 CAA) scored in the 88th minute, which proved to be the only goal needed in the Huskies' 1-0 victory over Drexel (4-12-1, 1-9 CAA) Sunday afternoon at Northeastern's Parsons Field.
Drexel played aggressively taking seven shots in the first half and kept the Huskies scoreless, going into halftime with the score knotted at zero.
After a red card was called on Northeastern's Laura Johnson with less than four minutes remaining in the match, play was held up and a controversial call took a scoring opportunity away from the Dragons.
Drexel's #Christine Murta# finished with two shots on goal while #Carly Snyder#, #Jenna Carson# and #Stacey Blevins# each recorded one shot on goal.
The Huskies held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-4 and shots, 23-11. Drexel's #Kaitlin Bond# made nine saves in goal while Northeastern's junior goalkeeper Annie Petrofsky made four saves for her CAA-leading eighth shutout of the season.
Drexel returns to Vidas Field on Friday, October 27, when they host Delaware on the Dragons' senior night at 7 p.m.
