Philadelphia – Freshman Michelle McKinley (Seaville, N.J./Ocean City) scored the game-tying goal in the 68th minute as the Dragons earned a tie at the Towson Center Soccer Complex, 1-1. With the victory, the Dragons improved to 4-5-3 overall (0-3-2 CAA), while the Tigers are now 7-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.
McKinley scored her first career goal after converting passes from sophomore Martha Lutz (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) and junior Maria Ferrato (Thoroid, Ontario/Holy Cross). The tie would hold the rest of the way despite Drexel playing a woman short for the final 33 minutes of the game. Sophomore Carly Snyder (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) was ejected from the game after receiving her second yellow card of the contest with 12:41 remaining in regulation.
Towson controlled play in the first half and outshot the Dragons, 10-1. The Tigers got on the board when Kaitlyn Zamroz scored with 8:28 remaining in the first half. Erica Marshall picked up the assist on the play.
Kaitlin Bond (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) had another solid game in goal for Drexel. The junior made eight saves. Towson goalkeeper Brandi Daniels had four saves for the Tigers.
Drexel travels to Fairfax, Va., to face George Mason on Sunday afternoon.
