The Drexel women's soccer team had its four-game unbeaten streak snapped at William & Mary on the Dragons' conference opener. The Tribe scored less than two minutes into the game and never looked back en route to the 3-0 victory. The loss dropped Drexel's record to 4-3-1, 0-1 CAA while the Tribe improved to 6-3, 1-0 CAA.
William and Mary got on the board early as Claire Zimmeck registered what proved to be the game-winner less than two minutes into the contest off a cross from freshman Mary Carter Jacocks on the left side. That was the only goal of the half as the Dragons trailed 1-0 at halftime.
The Tribe added some insurance in the 59th minute when junior Danielle Collins rebounded her own blocked shot in the box and scored her second goal of the season. William and Mary concluded the scoring in the 73rd minute with a score by sophomore Kellie Jenkins.
Megan Walker registered her fourth shutout of the season for the Tribe. Kaitlin Bond made six saves in a losing effort for the Dragons. The Tribe out-shot the Dragons 21-5. The Dragons face Old Dominion on Sunday.
