Women's Soccer Drops Hard-Fought Game at Old Dominion, 1-0

Drexel women's soccer battled Old Dominion to a scoreless first half but the Lady Monarchs finally broke through with a goal in the 62nd minute to win a Colonial Athletic Associaton game. The loss dropped Drexel to 4-4-1 (0-2 CAA) while Old Dominion improved to 5-2-1 (1-1 CAA).
Old Dominion improved to 5-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference with the win. Lizzy Brewster knocked home the game-winner in the 62nd minute off a feed from Kirstin Walker. Walker chipped the ball over the top of the Dragon defenders. Brewster made the run and poked the ball into the lower right corner for the goal.
Junior keeper Lauren Tupman posted her first shutout of the season by making two saves for ODU. The Monarchs outshout Drexel 15-8 in the match. The Dragons had six of thier shots in the first half. Kaitlin Bond made a pair of saves in goal for the Dragons, who are off until Friday night, when they host James Madison at Vidas Field.
