Cambridge, Mass. - Drexel men's crew will send its varsity eight to one of most prestigious regattas in the world as "The Annette Pennoni" boat will race against some of the best in the world at the 45th Annual Head of Charles Regatta. "The Annette Pennoni" is slated to race on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 4:20 p.m.
Drexel Director of Rowing Paul Savell will be entering Filip Topalovic (S), Jacob Sloan(7), Marty Khait(6), Chris Hillenbrand (5), Aleksandar Radovic(4), Greg Pierce(3), Anthony Fitipaldi(2), Will Masters (B) along with coxswain Steve Matyas to the Head of the Charles to face top collegiate opponents such as Washington, Harvard, Penn, Stanford, Princeton, California and Yale. In addition, national teams from the United States and Germany, among others, will also be sending entrants in Drexel's division.
The Dragons will be looking to build on the momentum generated in last weekend's season-opening Navy Day Regatta where the boat finished third among all entrants and second among all collegiate opponents. The Dragons defeated Penn, Temple, Lehigh and others as they opened eyes throughout the rowing community.
