Dragons Rally to Tie Old Dominion

Freshman Sydney Douglas scored an unassisted goal with less than three minutes remaining as Drexel (2-2-1, 0-2-1) rallied to tie Old Dominion, 1-1, in a Colonial Athletic Association match.
Douglas, who entered the match just minutes earlier, scored her second career goal in the 87th minute to stun the Monarchs (5-5-1, 1-1-1) who were just minutes away from the victory. Earlier in the half, Old Dominion scored its only goal on a penalty kick. The game was scoreless until the 82nd minute when Old Dominion's Ashlee Coutu took the penalty kick and fired a shot past Drexel goalkeeper Nicole Sinclair.
Old Dominion held a 12-3 shot advantage in the first half, but could not get on the board. Drexel keeper Nicole Sinclair made four stops in the half, including a pair in the final two minutes of the frame. Sinclair set a career-high with nine saves and kept the Dragons in the contest, despite being outshout 29-13 overall. ODU keeper Bri Alvarado picked up four saves.
The Dragons continue their road trip on Sunday in Virginia. Drexel and William & Mary meet in a conference match beginning at 2 p.m.
