Philadelphia - Fans will be able to follow Drexel's quest to defend its CAA Championship this season in a number of ways thanks to new partnerships with Comcast SportsNet, The Comcast Network and WKDU radio to cover Drexel women's basketball games. For the first time ever, three of Drexel's home games will be televised live throughout the region on the Comcast networks. In addition, an agreement has been reached for Drexel's student-run radio station, WKDU 91.7 FM to broadcast home games throughout the season. This is the first time in recent history that the station will regularly air women's basketball games.
The Dragons home games against Virginia Commonwealth, on Jan. 24, and Delaware, on Jan. 31, will both be telecast by The Comcast Network with noon tips for both games. Drexel's Feb. 28 game against UNC Wilmington will be broadcast on Comcast SportsNet at 1:00 p.m.
Joining longtime voice of the Dragons Pat Delsi on the radio waves this season will be WKDU sports anchor Mike Mazzeo. Mazzeo, a senior sport management major at Drexel, will be providing commentary and analysis for the broadcasts along with Delsi's play-by-play. He served as an analyst on several broadcasts last season, including the CAA Championship game at James Madison.
Live audio for all will also be available on www.drexeldragons.com and streaming video and livestats will also be provided on the site for all home games.
The Dragons, who return three starters, including CAA Player of the Year Gabriela Marginean and Presesaon Second Team All-CAA pick Jasmina Rosseel, will open the season at home against Penn State on Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m.
