Philadelphia – Drexel had its highest scoring match of the season and Nicole Sinclair posted her second shutout in three games as the Dragons blanked Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-0.
Drexel (2-5) put pressure on the Knights (2-4) early and got on the board in the game's 23rd minute. Freshman Alex Vazquez fed Jenna Lindsay down the left side. Lindsay cut the ball back, opened up space and fired a shot into the far right corner off the Knights' keeper. It was Lindsay's third of the season and 13th of her career at Drexel.
The Dragons scored a pair of goals early in the second half to take control of the contest. Freshman Courtney Wylie intercepted a clearing pass, juggled by a defender and launched a shot off the far post and into the net for the Dragons' second goal. Just 56 seconds later, Elizabeth Matta, who just substituted for Wylie, fired home a rebound off a Carly Snyder shot to make it a three-goal game.
Sinclair made fives saves in recording her second career shutout. Stephanie Tanzi had two saves for the Knights, who were outshot, 9-8.
