Norfolk, Va. – Chris Fouch scored 11 points, but Old Dominion was too much for Drexel as the Monarchs defeated the Dragons, 71-48, at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
Old Dominion entered the game fifth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing an average of just 56.3 points per contest and improved on that by holding the Dragons offense in check until late in the game.

Later in the half, the Dragons were able to trim the lead to six when Evan Neisler scored and was fouled by a Monarch. He made the free throw to make the score 25-19. However, Old Dominion answered moments later by closing the half with a 6-0 run that made it a 35-23 game in favor of the Monarchs at intermission.
