Grasonville, Md. - Drexel golf recovered from a tough first round to climb the leaderboard and claim 11th of 19 teams at the Fireline Towson Invitational. Kyle Davis led the way for the Dragons with a team-best 224 in the three-round event. His one-over par 73 in the second round was the top single-round score of the tournament for Drexel while Ben Feld shaved two strokes off of his score in each subsequent round and finished with a 74 in the finale for a total of 228. UNC Greensboro won the team title while Kent State's Mackenzie Hughes took medalist honors with a 213. The Dragons finished ahead of Georgetown, William & Mary, Cornell, Army, Seton Hall, Long Island, Siena and Mount St. Mary's.
After a round of 321 left the Dragons tied for 15th, Drexel rebounded to shoot a 305 in the second round highlighted by Davis' 73. Feld and James Braunsberg recorded 76's with Andrew Lawson firing an 80. The final round saw Drexel shave one stroke off of its second round score to break a tie with Georgetown who had identical first and second round scores as Drexel. Feld's 74 was best on the team for the final round while Davis was just a stroke behind at 75. Lawson shot his best round of the tournament with a 77 while Braunsberg recorded a 78.
