Three Dragons Claim All-CAA Tennis Honors

Norfolk, Va. - Zineb Hilali, Nikoloz Kurdadze and Manu Bajpai took home All-Conference tennis honors at the CAA's annual awards banquet following the opening round of play at the 2010 CAA Tournament. Bajpai and Kurdadze were honored as a Third Team All-CAA doubles team. Hilali and Kurdadze were both honored with spots on the All-CAA Third Team for their performances in singles play.
Kurdadze and Bajpai are 7-0 at first doubles for the Dragons this season. They pulled out a key victory over George Mason in the first round of the CAA Tournament on Wednesday to help the Dragons advance for a second straight season. Kurdadze, a transfer sophomore from the University of Portland, went 14-8 while playing at the top of the lineup for the Dragons. He posted a 5-2 record while holding down the first singles spot this spring for Drexel.
Hilali garnered her second All-CAA honor in as many seasons when she took home Third Team All-CAA recognition after her senior season. She went 7-7 overall this season and 7-4 while playing at first singles for the Dragons. Her performance yesterday helped set the Dragons on the way to a 4-2 victory over George Mason in the opening round of the CAA Tournament.
Both Drexel teams will be in action on Friday at the CAA Tournament at 2:00 p.m. The men will face No.1 William & Mary and the women will take on No. 1 VCU.
