
Women's Soccer Falls to GW, 3-1

Newark, Del. – George Washington scored three goals in the first half and defeated Drexel, 3-1, in the opening game of the Blue Hen Classic.
Adrian Roy got the Colonials (4-3) on the board in the 18th minute. She took a rebounder off a Drexel (3-4) defender and went high to make it a 1-0 game. Kayley Sullivan put GW up by two goals in the 31st minute. She fired the ball over goalkeeper Victoria Troccoli's head for the second goal of the game. GW added another late in the half, when Claire Haft took a feed from Jane Wallis and fired the ball from the top of the box into the upper left corner to make it 3-0 with just 30 ticks left on the clock.
Drexel had more opportunities in the second half and got on the board in the game's 55th minute. Freshman Sam Greenfield snuck a shot in the far corner for her second goal of the season. Courtney Wylie and Jenna Lindsay were credited with assists for the Dragons.
Victoria Troccoli played the first half in goal for Drexel and had five saves. Nicole Sinclair took over in the second half and had one stop in goal.
Drexel outshot the Colonials, 12-10. The Dragons face La Salle on Sunday in Newark at noon.
