Dragons Claim Sixth at St. Bonaventure Keenan Invitational

Olean, N.Y. – Drexel took sixth of 12 teams at the St. Bonaventure Keenan Invitational over the weekend. The host Bonnies captured the tournament with a final round push to overcome St. Francis by three strokes on Monday at Bartlett Country Club. The Dragons finished with a 604 for the event, 23 strokes behind St. Bonaventure's winning score of 581. Andrew Lawson shot a team-best 148 to finish in a tie for 11th individually.
Drexel entered the final round tied for fourth after Lawson, with a team low 75.3 stroke average, led the Dragons with a two-over 72 in round one. Lawson would follow up in the final round of play with a 76. Sophomore Ben Feld had a similar weekend as he scored a first round 73 and second round 76 landing in a tie for 14th. Freshman Tom Beecher, playing individually, holed a team high six birdies on his way to 75 in both rounds, giving him sole possession of 18th place.
Michael Serensits tied for 33rd shooting a two-round total of 155, after scores of 78 and 77, respectively, while Ben Hinge and James Braunsberg followed close behind. Hinge scored a 157 beating his first-round 82 by shooting a final-round 75 and tying for 37th. Braunsberg carded a 77 in the opening round of play then finished with an 83 and tied for 49th.
The Dragons hit the road again September 26th as they travel to Bull's Bridge Country Club in South Kent, Conn. for the Hartford Hawk Invitational.
