Serensits Shoots Team-Best 156 as Dragons Finish 11th at Hartford Hawk Invitational

South Kent, Conn. - Junior Mike Serensits shot a 156 to post the team's best score for the first time in his collegiate career as Drexel Golf finished in a tie for 11th of 15 teams at the Hartford Hawk Invitational at Bull's Bridge Golf Course. James Braunsberg totaled a 157 while Ben Feld and Andrew Lawson shot a 158 and 159, respectively. St. John's won the two-round event with a 585 while Drexel totaled 630. The event was originally scheduled for three rounds but was shortened due to incliment weather.
Drexel sat in a tie for eighth place after a first round that saw three Dragons post 77's. Feld, Serensits and Braunsberg were tied for 31st place individually while Lawson's 78 placed him in a tie for 40th. Drexel's other entry, freshman Tom Beecher, shot an 85. The second round saw scores rise for all five golfers. Serensits closed out the tournament with a 79 while Braunsberg carded an 80. Feld and Lawson each posted an 81 while Beecher recorded a 92. Drexel finished ahead of Bryant, Holy Cross and Hofstra in the invitational.
