Philadelphia - The Drexel men's basketball team hosts CAA preseason favorite Old Dominion at the Daskalakis Athletic Center tonight at 7 p.m. The game can be seen live on ESPNU. Old Dominon enters play with a 12-3 record, while the Dragons stand at 10-4.
The Dragons are 2-2 in the CAA after defeating Delaware on Saturday. Frantz Massenat scored 16 points and had seven assists, while both Daryl McCoy and Samme Givens recorded double-doubles. Givens is now 10th in the nation in rebounding. Chris Fouch continues to lead the team in scoring with 17.6 points per game, the second-highest total in the CAA. Freshman Dartaye Ruffin was named the CAA's Rookie of the Week on Monday. It was the third time he earned the honor.
The Monarchs, 3-1 in CAA play, have won three in a row and seven of their last eight games. They allow just 59.5 points per game, the same as the Dragons, and are second in the CAA in rebounding margin behind Drexel. Frank Hassell leads ODU in scoring (13.1), rebounding (9.3) and field goal percentage (.572). Two of ODU's three losses are to nationally-ranked teams (Georgetown and Missouri)
