Men's Basketball Visits Mason on Wednesday Night
1/18/2011 10:09:07 AM | Men's Basketball
The Drexel men's basketball team travels to Virginia to take on George Mason on Wednesday night. The game is a late start for television as tip-off is at 9 p.m. It can be seen live on MASN.
The Dragons look to get back to their winning ways after falling at William & Mary on Saturday. Chris Fouch is still second in the CAA in scoring for the 11-5 Dragons, who are now 3-3 in league play. Fouch has been held in check in the recent games. Samme Givens is 11th in the nation with 10.5 points per game and is averaging more than 12 points per contest. Gerald Colds had a career-night at William & Mary on Saturday, nailing seven of his nine long-range attempts and finishing with 22 points. Drexel is among the league leaders, allowing just 60.6 points per contest.
Mason has won two straight league games and sits at 4-2 in the CAA, just one game out of first place. Cam Long is the Patriots top offensive weapon, averaging 14.5 points per game. He has help, though, as junior Ryan Pearson averages 14.4 points and Luke Hancock is also in double figures with 11.4 points per game. Pearson was last week's CAA player of the week after leading Mason past Northeastern and Georgia State. Mason shoots just under 49 percent from the floor and 39 percent from long distance.
If you can't make it to Virginia, you don't have to miss a second of the action. Every men's basketball game can be heard live via Dragons Game Central on DrexelDragons.com, the Drexel Athletics Mobile site or through the Drexel Dragons App for free.
