Hempstead, N.Y. - The Drexel men's basketball continues its difficult stretch through the CAA with a road contest against Charles Jenkins and the Hofstra Pride this afternoon. Today's game is Drexel's fourth game in eight days, which included an extra night on the road due to the recent snow storm.
The Dragons are now 13-7 overall and 5-5 in the CAA. Drexel lost a tough game on Wednesday at James Madison, 60-52. The Dukes went on a late 8-0 run to pick up the win. Drexel's defense was outstanding all night, especially the play inside from Daryl McCoy, but turnovers proved costly late. Three turnovers led to six fast break points for the Dukes
The Pride comes into the game in second place in the CAA with an 8-2 mark. Hofstra lost at VCU on Thursday night in a game which was for first place. Jenkins is almost everyone's pick for the CAA Player of the Year. He leads the league with more than 23 points per game and is shooting well above 40 percent from long range.
Drexel was forced to spend an extra night in Harrsionburg, Va., due to the snow. Then on the way home, the team's bus broke down, forcing the team to a local mall for about five hours before finally getting back to Philly.
The Dragons head home after the game and host Towson on Wednesday night at the DAC.
