Drexel Field Hockey Hosts No. 20 Louisville on Play for the Cure and High School Day

Philadelphia – The Drexel women's field hockey team welcomes No. 20 Louisville in a non-conference match-up on Sunday, October 16 at 12:30 p.m. at Buckley Field. The Dragons enter the contest 9-5 overall and 3-2 in CAA play. Sunday's game marks the first meeting between both field hockey squads. The Cardinals are the only BIG EAST team that the Dragons have yet to face in the field hockey program's history.
Senior forward Ashley Santee enters Sunday's game with a five game scoring streak. She now has six goals, three assists, and 15 points for Drexel. Senior goalkeeper Kim Chiarelli registered a career high with nine saves against the Lady Monarch's last Sunday. Chiarelli now has 35 saves this season.
The Cardinals defeated Rutgers last weekend, 4-2, and improved to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in BIG EAST play. Senior midfielder Hayley Turner leads the team with eight goals, seven assists, and 23 points. Teammate Elizabeth Vance has also tallied five goals and four assists for Louisville. Redshirt junior goalkeeper Erin Conrad has collected 62 saves and four shutouts.
Sunday is also designated as the Play for the Cure game with all proceeds to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the American Cancer Society. Drexel Field Hockey is also celebrating High School Day. Don't forget to sport pink attire and cheer on the Dragons on Sunday, October 16 at 12:30 p.m. at Buckley Field.
