Drexel Field Hockey Faces William and Mary on Friday

Philadelphia – Drexel Field Hockey gears up for two Colonial Athletic Association games this weekend at Buckley Field. The Dragons will face William and Mary on Friday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a match-up against No. 1 Old Dominion on Sunday afternoon. Drexel enters the contest 8-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play after falling to No. 11 California Berkley, 3-2, in overtime last Sunday.
Last weekend, freshman Christina Conrad posted a new career high with two goals in the 4-1 win over the Towson Tigers. Conrad was named CAA's field hockey Rookie of the Week on Tuesday. Senior Ashley Santee currently has a three game scoring streak for the Dragons.
William and Mary is 7-4 all-time against Drexel. Last season, the Dragons shutout the Tribe, 3-0, and remained on top of the Colonial Athletic Association standings. Christina Mastropaolo, Ashley Santee, and Jen Cairone all scored against the Tribe. Drexel outshot William and Mary, 24-3, and did not allow a shot in the second half.
The Tribe dropped to 6-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play after a 2-1 loss against Richmond on Sunday. William and Mary have lost its last three games. Redshirt freshman Jesse Ebner and redshirt junior Leah Zamesnik lead the team in goals. Redshirt senior goalkeeper Camilla Hill has made 37 stops for the Tribe.
