Men's Basketball Opens Paradise Jam on Friday at 1 p.m. EST

The Drexel men's basketball team is back in action on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Eastern Time in the Paradise Jam Tournament. Drexel will face Norfolk State in the first round in St. Thomas. The winner of the game will advance to the semifinals to face either Virginia or TCU.

The Dragons are 1-0 after an opening-day win againt Rider. Drexel woke up early for the 6 a.m. tip and handled the Broncs in front of a capacity crowd, 80-62. Frantz Massenat and Samme Givens each scored 21 points for Drexel. Massenat had his career-high and was 7-for-10 from the floor. Damion Lee had a nice collegiate debut with 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Drexel arrived in the Virgin Islands late on Wednesday night. On Thursday, the team practiced, went to study hall and spent an hour or so of free time on the beach before heading to the dinner put on by the hosts. This is Drexel's first time in the Paradise Jam. Old Dominion won the tournament last season.
