Two Dragons Earn Titles as Wrestling Places Fifth at Body Bar

Ithaca, N.Y. – The Dragons placed fifth out of 12 teams as Kyle Frey and Joe Booth take the titles at heavy weight and 165 pounds respectively. Both Frey and Booth went a perfect 4-0 on the day including a bonus point win by each.
Frey started things off by pinning Army's Curtis Garner midway through the second period followed by a 3-2 decision over host Cornell's Stryker Lane. In the semi-finals Frey defeated Bloomsburg's Zac Walsch in a 7-2 decision before earning the 5-2 win over Nick Gwaizdowski of Binghamton in the finals.
Booth's first victory was a 4-1 decision over Dylan Caprio of Lock Haven then an impressive 9-3 decision over Alexander Smith of Army. Booth then blanked Ross Tice of Kent State in a 8-0 major decision. The final saw Booth defeat Mark Lewandowski of Buffalo 3-1 to earn the title.
Frank Cimato and Brandon Palik also highlighted the day on the mat for the Dragons including Palik's pinning of Binghamton's Tyler Deuel shortly into the second period. Palik went 4-2 on the day. Cimato split matches and fought his way to a fourth place finish winning both of his matches 4-3.
The Dragons will be back in action Dec. 2-3 as they travel to Las Vegas, Nev. for the Cliff Keen Invitational.
