Philadelphia - The Drexel men's basketball team is back in action on Saturday against William & Mary at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons had their five game home winning streak at the DAC snapped on Wednesday. Drexel enters the game with a 16-8 record and an 8-6 mark in the CAA.
The Dragons struggled on Wednesday night to score, especially from the perimeter. Drexel was just 1-for-12 from long range. Samme Givens led the Dragons with 22 points and 11 rebounds. It was his eighth double-double of the season. Givens is currently 16th in the nation in rebounding. Dartaye Ruffin added 10 points and was the only other Dragon with at least 10 points.
William & Mary is 7-18 overall and 3-11 in the CAA. The Tribe defeated Drexel earlier this season in Williamsburg. Quinn McDowell is having another solid season for the Tribe. McDowell is averaging 15 points per game and is one of the top long-range threats in the CAA.
Drexel will play at UNC Wilmington on Tuesday. The Dragons then take a break from conference play and host Kent State on Feb. 18 at 9 p.m. in the DAC. The game is part of ESPN's Bracketbusters and can be seen live on ESPNU.
